Gold Expressions is an initiative promoted by World Gold Council in partnership with Vicenza Fair and AngloGold Ashanti, the world's second largest gold mining company. It unites the biggest names in the sphere of Italian gold jewellery in a design project based on in-depth research of consumer patterns and socio-cultural trends, to ensure the creation of innovative and contemporary gold jewellery.
The resulting collection is launched at the January fair in Vicenza before embarking on a world tour of countries with high gold jewellery consumption, including the U.S., the Middle East, China, India and Japan. New and notable in 2008 will be Gold Expressions’ debut in the Russian market at New Russian Style, the gold fair to be held in Moscow from May 22-24, 2008.

The media was permitted an exclusive pre-launch view of several collection pieces on January 14, 2008 during a cocktail held at the Centro Pigafetta in Vicenza Fair. During this event, the Gold Expressions video was presented, showing an overview of the 2007 world tour, as well as the new collections, mainly featuring yellow gold with particular emphasis on the finish, be it hammered, satiny, engraved, opaque, cut-out, godronné or laser-etched. There is also an abundance of long decorative chains and a creative use of other materials such as ceramic and onyx. The world tour is closely followed by the media, as it provides regular updates on new trends and new designs that characterize the unique Italian style.
The next Vicenza events are Charm, from May 17-21, 2008 and Choice in September. The Gold Expressions Gallery, located between pavilions G and C, will be showing representative pieces from the innovative collection, accompanied by abundant printed material to illustrate the beauty of Gold Expressions 2008 jewellery.
